Sparkly One is 20 minute performance, centered around a discarded plush unicorn toy— Through storytelling, singing, interactive puppetry, and shifting lights, the toy slowly transforms — becoming something more than it first appears: a supernatural spirit, a creature that has been watching all along.

Sparkly One draws upon a sensibility that moves through the tender, uncanny space, blurring into childhood memory and quiet horror. As the performance unfolds, the central character finds themselves in a perilous situation covered in blood on the brink of death, where the only solution seems to lie in submitting to the unifying power of a cuddly toy.
